I should have taken pictures, that reading party I had on Saturday was like nothing I’d experienced before. I am so thankful to everyone that came out, read a section of the book and gave their feedback. There were so many different perspectives and a lot of dialogue that I definitely have a lot to think about over the next few weeks.
I actually needed to step away from the manuscript for a couple days afterwards. I didn’t even want to talk about Journey Through Darkness for a while. Though there are some changes that need to be made, everyone that came is excited to read the finished copy and thinks it’s a good book. The positivity is nice to hear after the work has been desseminated. There I things I would do differently in the future, but overall it was a great success.
The process with my current editor is much more thorough than with the previous one I used with Secrets in Mystic Woods. The amount of challenges that occurred writing this book including technical difficulties with all my devices as well as getting used to a new editor and process while continuing on with my everyday working life has been a learning experience.
After everything I’ve been through so far, I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I don’t know if the book will be published by the end of the year, but I think it will be a great story on its own merits and I’m looking forward to seeing it in print.
I will keep you posted.
