I know it’s been a while since I wrote anything here on this forum, but there are a few things in the pipeline for me. As you all know, I am a writer, massage therapist and mother. I have many hats that I wear and I have been told that I put too much on my plate. There are still plenty of things that I want to do and get involved with, but I am learning that I need to pick my priorities and not have my cake and eat it too (though I always thought it was pointless to even have a cake you couldn’t eat). Case and point, I’m writing a blog at 1 a.m. after researching ideas for yet another story.
I am currently working on the Charity Graves series, as I’m currently calling it, being that the main character’s name is Charity Graves that seemed to be a fitting connection for me. Secrets in Mystic Woods has been out for over a year now and we have sold a few books at conventions and other events. I am happy with my story and I am excited to complete the series that I have laid out, but one thing is for sure, publishing takes a lot of time. While following up with my publisher and talking about expected deadlines I was informed that sometimes the process could take up to a year to ensure high quality work. I appreciate the time, energy and effort that people put into a project to make it the best project it can be, but I also need to have an idea of deadlines so that I know when my books will be ready for sale, when I can get them to you, and when to have a release party.
At this point I am trying to create a full schedule of events for 2019 so that all of my fans, followers, family members, friends, know where I am on what dates selling my book so they can buy it or plan their schedules around it if need be. Along with that I would like to have my second book, Journey Through Darkness, available for purchase when I go on tour in the upcoming year. I’m very excited about it and I know that many of you are excited about it as well. Unfortunately, just like before we are playing a waiting game. The most recent update I have for you in regards to my most recent manuscript is that it has finished page design and is going on to cover art, this is one of my favorite parts in the process. This is where I get to tell the artist what I am thinking and then they send me a proof of their art depicting the scene I described. More often than not their rendition is even better than the original vision I had in my head. The release date for the book was scheduled for January 2019 and we’re cutting it close. The book should be available sometime in January or February according to current projections.
I am currently creating a list of people that want to pre-order Journey Through Darkness, if you are interested in this please send me an email with your name and desire to pre-order a book. When they are ready for me to purchase I will reach out to you to confirm that desire and to get the necessary information for purchase and a way to get the book to you. In most instances we would prefer to see you at one of our events and have a book there waiting.
I am currently working on setting up a You Tube channel as well to give you updates about the progress of my work. If I can I will be linking my channel to my blog so it’s convenient for you to view. I am also hoping to get a gallery page up and running on my site so that all the pictures that have been taken at the events can be uploaded. I would love to show my appreciation to all you wonderful people that supported me.
I have been working heavily on book three which may turn into three books in itself or one very large book. I am still unsure where that lies. I have written many scenes for three different storylines in this book and they are all over the place like puzzle pieces right now. Eventually I will have to place them all together. I am super excited about the third book. I feel like the story is filled with a lot of action. I like all the characters and how they are developing, but I am facing some decisions on certain characters that we might be saying goodbye to. I am saddened by this and I know that a few of you might be too, but nothing is finalized until it’s in print. Being that book three has so many components to it, I don’t think I will be able to have out by 2020. If writing was my only job, maybe. If there wasn’t still so much left to do, possibly. Maybe I need to take some vacation time to put my nose to the grindstone so to speak. I want these books to be true to the vision I have, I want to give them the time and quality they deserve. Once they are done and available I will let you know via blog, newsletter, facebook, twitter, instagram and youtube.
