I haven’t had as much time as I would like to write lately. Finding that writing time everyday is something I really need to work at as is focusing on one project at a time. Being a mother, a full time massage therapist, and an author doesn’t leave much time for other things and balancing it all has been challenging. In the past I would write at night after my daughter went to bed, but now either she gets up a bunch at night or I’m doing some work around the house that needs to get done. It’s really pick and choose.
The reason I bring up some of these challenges is not to vent, but to show you that even with tough times and busy schedules you can find time here and there to accomplish your goals no matter how slowly they come about. It took me four years with a busy schedule to complete my first book and now it’s published. I’m almost done with a working rough draft of the second and working on developing the third (this goes back to focusing on one thing at once).
It doesn’t matter if you’re a child, teenager, parent, grandparent, male, female, your nationality or religious beliefs, if you have a dream you should pursue it. I’ve read about 90 year old women running marathons, people in their 70’s getting their college degrees, musical geniuses playing piano at 3 and olympians starting to train at 6 years old. Don’t let the world define you, they want to and they will if you let them. Their assumptions only show their ignorance. You know who you are, stop listening to the voices of complacent people who have time to judge you. Listen to your inner voice and go define yourself!
For those of you who would like to talk in person or get a book signed I will be at Half Price Books in Bloomingdale November 12th 2-5. Have a great week!
