I know it’s been a bit since I’ve written in here. I wanted to appologize for my absence. I have been working diligently on getting book two in the Charity Graves Series ready for publication. Journey Through Darkness is currently projected to make its public debut winter this year.
I have been lining up events for the year at craft shows and conventions to get the word out about Secrets in Mystic Woods, and how it’s the first book in a series. I am fortunate to have met wonderful people throughout this process including other authors who share their passion for writing and inspire me to be better at what I do.
I will be reaching out to libraries and schools to talk with teenagers about why figuring out what your strengths are, what your passions are and why it’s so important to follow your dreams.
Though I started writing as a hobby for myself, other people have been inspired to write or publish their books too because they saw me do it. People are sometimes afraid to get out there and do what they love, myself included, but how much time do you waste being afraid when you could have just gotten started doing what you love and enjoyed your life!
When I was thirteen it didn’t even cross my mind that I could open up a business. I was too young. That’s not the case. Young people come up with good ideas and businesses have been formed, stories written, bands created. I only wish that as a teenager I felt my voice, thoughts, dreams, could make a difference. I want to encourage teenagers today that it can. No matter your circumstance or upbringing, there are challenges, but if you are passionate about something, find a way. You matter, you are the future, and choices shape your life.
My writing dream started when I was 9, at least that’s as early as I can recall. I don’t remember a time I didn’t love creating something, a poem, a painting, a play. I didn’t realize I had a gift until much later. I even took a completely different career path, which utilized different strengths and passions. I’ve created a life based on doing the things I enjoy. I would encourage you to find what that is, working takes up a good chunk of your life, so find something you love!
I am currently typing up part one of book three Guided by Moonlight and will update my website and blogs with events. Please don’t hesitate to check out my website http://LAKirchheimer.com and sign up for my newsletter letting you know about new releases and events.
My blog posts are going to have to go down to once a week again instead of the three times a week I was trying to maintain because it was taking too much time away from my main projects.
I’m looking forward to getting this series out there for you to read. I’m loving the characters and the adventures and I hope you do.
See you next week!
